BFA in Photography Art Exhibit Woodbury Art Museum

I have been working for a long time on my BFA and I am so excited and so proud that my show is almost here! A week from Thursday on March 30th, come see me and my work at the Woodbury Art Museum in Orem, UT. Here's my advertising poster that my good friend Emily Kim helped me on as well as some pieces I love that didn't make the show! You guys, I am seriously so giddy over it all!

Boys in the Studio

I haven't photographed my sweet boys in so long so I took them down to Justin Hackworth's studio last week for a session. My 2 year old was a stinker, but hello, he's 2. I am pretty happy with the results though. These boys of mine are so dear to my heart and I just can't imagine a life without them. Oh these darling little boys of mine.

Winter at Utah Lake

I have a major project due tomorrow for my Exploratory Photo Process's class. It's been so very stressful and I spent most of the day on Saturday working on it. I was so frustrated. I had to take a break. I decided I NEEDED to shoot something. Something for me. So off went me and my girls (My Mamiya and  my Nikon 810 girls)  to Utah lake. May I just say how bone chilling cold it was?! However, it was my coffee beans for my eyes! Sometimes when we get in a funk, we need to drop what we are doing and just do something completely unrelated in order to get some perspective! My project is almost done (well good thing as it's due tomorrow right?) and I am now working on my Artist's Statement.

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby!

I can't believe my baby is a year old. This time last year, I was meeting my boy for the very first time. I remember clearly when they placed his head next to mine (cuz that's how we roll for c-sections) I felt overwhelmed by his sweet spirit. I fell in love with him so fast. Porter has been such a joy in my life and it has been so fun to watch all of his little new adventures in learning. He is a boy who knows what he wants. Playing outside is about his favorite thing right now. I sure do love this stinker of mine. Happy Birthday baby love!

Goodbye 2013!

I can't believe we are on the LAST day of 2013! What a year it has been! For the very most part, it has been amazing! 26 beautiful weddings I have gotten to be apart of and 26 darling brides I have gotten to know. This year brought 3 out of state weddings and I loved EVERY SECOND of those weddings!  I have shot a lot of wonderful families, seniors, babies and children. This next year will bring much change on a lot of levels-which I am excited for. I will be starting off the year with an out of state bridal fair. So excited for that! During this busy year, I took a quick breath to have the most adorable, sweet little spirit. He truly has been such a happy joy in my life. I am excited to say goodbye to 2013 and to see what this new year holds not only for my wonderful business, but my family as well!

Happy New Years to all my AMAZING clients, friends, families and faithful followers!
Here's to a wonderful 2014 to all of us!

The Boys!

These boys are the cutest stinkers ever. They completely own my heart, but they are the hardest kids to photograph. Lincoln HATES having his pics taken and landed in time out a few times. Porter lasted about 2 minutes and then just cried most of the time. It truly was a nightmare of a session. I had one photographer acquaintance tell me she didn't know why I would want to do this to myself. Well, I love these boys and even though it's so hard, I am glad I at least try. Usually these boys are pretty happy and even though they are mostly serious in these images, I still love them and am glad I took these photos of them. A special thank you to my dearest friend Melissa for taking the last few photos of me and my boys. She insisted on me being in a few. One day those images will be priceless to my boys when I am gone.
